Dear Customers and Shareholders,

In attempting a hostile takeover of Pennichuck, Nashua city leaders have already spent or committed more than $1,000,000 in taxpayer money on consultant and legal fees. City leaders have absolutely nothing to show for the spending, and the costs are only going to continue to escalate.

This wasteful spending must be especially appalling to taxpayers who are faced with a sizeable property tax increase – made worse for some by the recent skyrocketing increases in property valuations.

To illustrate the negative impact that this wasteful spending is having on the city, here are a few examples of what Nashua could do with $1,000,000.

Public Safety

Hire more than 25 new
firefighters, or…Purchase
three new fire trucks

Public Education

Hire more than 30 new first year teachers, or…Purchase a laptop computer for every 8th grader in Nashua, or …

Public Works Purchase ten new snowplows, or…Resurface 50 miles of roads in Nashua to eliminate potholes

It’s clear that public safety, public education and public works are all taking a back seat to the motives of city leaders who are driving the misguided attempt to take over Pennichuck, all in the name of the “public good.” These are the same city leaders who say they can come up with a plan to run the water system better than Pennichuck has for the last 152 years.

We urge you to call your aldermen today at (603) 589-3030, and tell them to stop pouring taxpayer money down the drain.
