| What is the source of my drinking water? | |||||||||
| The source of the Souhegan Woods water supply is one well which is located 920 feet southwest of the pump house near Amherst Road in Amherst. In addition, water from the Town of Merrimack is also used to supplement your supply. The Town of Merrimack operates seven wells located in Merrimack and Hollis. Treatment consists of chlorine addition to kill bacteria, phosphate addition to control corrosion and sequester iron and manganese, and sodium hydroxide to adjust pH and aid in corrosion control. | |||||||||
