| Turbidity is a measure of the cloudiness of the water. We monitor it because it is a good indicator of water quality. | |||||||||||
| *Monthly turbidity compliance is related to a specific treatment technique (TT). Our system filters the water so at least 95% of our samples each month must be below the turbidity limits specified in the regulations. | |||||||||||

| What is the source of my drinking water? | |||||||||||
| The water supply source for the Town of Pittsfield is Berry Pond, located off Route 107 in Pittsfield, NH. Water flows from Berry Pond into Berry Brook and then into the holding pond next to the treatment plant. From the holding pond water flows into the treatment plant. Treatment consists of flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, chlorination for disinfection, pH adjustment, and phosphate addition for control corrosion | |||||||||||
