| Arsenic: While your drinking water meets EPA’s standard for arsenic, it does contain low levels of arsenic. EPA’s standard balances the current understanding of arsenic’s possible health effects against the cost of removing arsenic from drinking water. EPA continues to research the health effects of low levels of arsenic which is a mineral known to cause cancer in humans at high concentrations and is linked to other health effects such as skin damage and circulatory problems. | ||||||||||

| What is the source of my drinking water? | ||||||||||
| The source of the Nesenkeag Hill water supply is two wells and a pump station located between Jewell Court and Raintree Drive in Londonderry, NH. Well # 1 is located 960 feet northwest of the pump house. Well # 2 is located 280 feet northwest of the pump house. Treatment consists of chlorine addition to kill bacteria, softening to reduce hardness and remove iron and manganese, phosphates to sequester iron and manganese and aid corrosion control, and pH adjustment using potassium carbonate to aid in corrosion control. | ||||||||||
