| Arsenic: While your drinking water meets EPA’s standard for arsenic, it does contain low levels of arsenic. EPA’s standard balances the current understanding of arsenic’s possible health effects against the cost of removing arsenic from drinking water. EPA continues to research the health effects of low levels of arsenic which is a mineral know to cause cancer in humans at high concentrations and is linked to other health effects such as skin damage and circulatory problems. | |||||||||

| Fletcher Corner Estates obtains its water from two bedrock wells. Bedrock Well # 1 is 1,005 feet deep and is located 980 feet southeast of the pump house. Bedrock Well # 2 is 1,040 feet deep and is located 1,170 feet southeast of the pump house. The pump house contains well water metering equipment. Water treatment consists of chlorine for disinfection, arsenic removal, polyphosphate for corrosion control and iron and manganese sequestration, aeration for radon removal, twin atmospheric storage tanks, twin domestic booster pumps, twin fire protection pumps, automatic control panel, and a standby generator. | |||||||||
